In view of the Pilot Project for the Promotion of Social Dialogue in the Southern Mediterranean Neighbourhood- SOLiD, The Arab NGO Network for Development (ANND), in coordination with the Jordanian Women’s Union, organised a regional workshop on labour and human rights on 23 and 24 September 2017 in Amman – Jordan. The two-day event gathered experts and academics, with the participation of 15 participants from the Civil Society and the presence of ATUC.
The workshop was structured as follows:
– Discussion sessions on the aspects of discrimination in the labour environment in the Arab region and highlight the international mechanisms and local initiatives that deal with this phenomena as well as the social protection and its reality in the SOLiD’s targeted countries which are Tunisia , Morocco and Jordan.
– Panel sessions on the freedom of organisation and the informal sector and its impact on the targeted countries
The regional workshop on labour and human rights was concluded with the attendees’ recommendations and remarks.
