Training workshop for representatives of Business Support Organisations in Palestine

Within the framework of the second phase of the  SOLiD   project and to enhance the skills of social partners to create a new culture based on comprehensive social dialogue to reach understandings acceptable to all parties, serving the social protection system and decent work, and respecting the universality of human rights, a training workshop was held on 14 and 15 September 2021 in Palestine, with several representatives from employers’ organizations such as the Palestinian federation of Industries and the Federation of Palestinian Agricultural and Industrial Chambers.

As the economic and social crisis continues in Palestine, the private sector plays an important role in facing challenges and achieving economic development in its various fields.

Representatives of employers’ organizations expressed their active involvement in the SOLiD2 project as it responds directly to their demands and will enhance their expertise and skills in social dialogue, which will positively reflect on the achievement of their goals through access to regional experiences and legal concepts to establish effective methods of work to confront most of the challenges.

The main objective of the training was to strengthen the idea and concept of social dialogue as a tool to address the most important issues and challenges, and to define the role of all parties to move forward in serious and effective negotiations on professional bases by respecting the other party’s point of view to overcome crises and achieve sustainable development goals.

This activity represented an opportunity for discussion between representatives of employers’ organizations to determine the priorities of the private sector and the mechanisms for achieving economic growth and ways of cooperation between the various social partners.

This workshop is part of a set of training sessions for various target groups in the countries of the second phase of the SOLiD project. Bilateral and multilateral meetings and workshops will follow these workshops in order to build a comprehensive and structured social dialogue.
